Asthma And Pets

How do you find pets? Are they not the cutest in the world? Who can resist an adorable puppy and a cute kitty cat? Certainly, nobody. These cuties are so soft and huggable and once you hug them you do not want to let go. Their fur might stick on your Urbane Scrubs but you do not mind. All you want to do is hug these cuties and you are happy. And so you decided to get a pet of your own. But as soon as you took your little kitty cat home, you seem to be sneezing and coughing more often. You even wheeze often than you did. And so you decided to go to your doctor and have yourself checked again. And the doctor confirmed what you feared, your asthma is getting worse. The doctor asked for any changes that happened in the past few days and you told him that the only change you had was that you adopted a cat. The doctor looked at you told you that you should not have adopted a cat because it will make your asthma worse.

Yes, furry pets can make asthma worse. But do not think it is the fur that sticks on your Landau 8335 that makes asthma worse. Although it is the most common notion, this is not true. The thing that makes asthma worse is the allergic reaction to the proteins found in the animal dander or skin flakes, animal saliva and animal urine. It is found out that a person with asthma is two to three times more likely to be allergic to a pet than a person who does not have asthma. This is because most asthmas are allergy-related. And pets are the easiest source of allergy because they are always found everywhere in the house. They are also cuddled and handled most of the time.

Any furry animal as a pet has the ability to collect dust mites, pollen, mold and other allergens that will definitely cause asthma. It does not mean that only furry animals have the capability to cause allergy. Feathered animals may also cause allergies. Their droppings can attract mold and dust mites that will trigger your allergy and then will cause your asthma. Some people say that there are certain breeds of cats or dogs that do not cause any allergic reaction; this is not possible because any warm-blooded animal is capable of causing allergic reaction.

If your asthma is very severe then there is no other choice but to find a new home for your pet. This is very hard to do but it is for your own good. The problem with pet allergens is that they stay for several days and even weeks even with the pets not present anymore. The allergens become airborne, especially if these are from their urine. Some of these allergens can stay in the carpets and furniture, undetected. It is a good idea to clean these as soon as the pets are gone. Be very thorough when cleaning.
