Anxiety Attack: The Culprit Behind the Condition

Anxiety had been the term associated with unexplained worrying and extreme fear of something. It is a condition usually accumulated from different causes or as a result of experience, either medical or environmental.

How far can anxiety meddle with your life? Imagine walking on the street where surplus shops are lining up. You just came from work and you are still wearing your landau uniforms. Your eyes focused on a shop holding a sale. Your eyes narrowed down to that pile or colorful piece of clothing and found out that urbane scrubs are on sale. For a person not suffering from anxiety, it would be just one of the sale days. But you, on the other hand, would start worrying that maybe the economy is experiencing crisis and that sellers would have to sell their products on a lower price. And the list of your worries would go on. Panic will also start creeping on you.

The example may be a bit weird and funny. But for those who have anxiety, they can’t stop from thinking that way, no matter how silly would it sound.

Constant worrying, being nervous and panicking are just some of the symptoms that would give away anxiety. Other symptoms include muscle tension, going to the bathroom often, irritable, headaches, sweating and even nausea.

Almost half of the population would have a brief idea of what are the symptoms of anxiety and most of them are also eager to know, what are the causes of this uncontrolled behavior?

We have narrowed down the list to give you a brief account:

  • Environment and External Factors. Anxiety can be blamed to unwanted trauma from not-so-pleasurable events such as abuse, victimization when in younger years or sudden death of a loved one. Another contributor is stress at work place and pressure from school is another thing. Handling relationships, marriage, friendship and going through divorce can also be included in acquiring anxiety.
  • Medical and Surgical. If a person is taking in medication, there is a possibility that anxiety may be developed as a result of side-effects. Other illnesses, on the other hand, are accountable for the occurrence of anxiety to some persons. Diseases like heart attack, heat stroke and hypoglycemia.
  • Substance use and abuse. Withdrawal from using drugs and narcotics is another cause of anxiety.
  • Genetics. Doctors and experts said that anxiety may also be hereditary and once one of you parents has it, there is a possibility that the child may also get the same disease and can be passed on the next generation.

Among the persons experiencing anxiety, most of them are women. Men, although there are possibilities as well, the risk that they may acquire and experience it is lower.

But just like any other condition, anxiety is also curable. There are medications available that can treat the condition. Counseling is also available for a faster recovery and medicines are just in the counter so you can purchase the one recommended by your doctor.

Worrying is not a taboo, so is panicking. But the cases where anxiety is concerned are different. You can worry about the weather, but then you can stop worrying about the urbane scrubs on sale. It is not yet the end of the economy. It is just a figment of your anxiety.
